Community Forum: Food Justice, Science & Democracy

June 6, 2015 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

The Union of Concerned Scientists invites you to attend a forum to find out how local residents, researchers, public health officials, and policy makers are collaborating to address food access, affordability, and availability in Minnesota’s communities of color, low-income communities, and tribal communities.

This forum will offer a unique opportunity to explore how communities are partnering with scientists and researchers to secure food justice and equity for all—including unique assets, barriers, and strategies for how we can overcome them.

The evening will wrap up will a compelling theatrical performance, Soul (Sustainable, Organic, Urban and Local) Food Monologues, directed by curator Ladonna Redmond, where community leaders and scientists working on overcoming food injustices and inequities will share their experiences through the moving art of storytelling.
