It’s all beany baby !
- Large pot if beans are (frozen)
- Large sauce pan if beans are (fresh/thawed)
- Cutting board
- Measuring Utensils
- 1 lb fresh or frozen greens beans that have been thawed
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 cup sliced or slivered almonds (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1Tablespoon butter
Chop garlic into very small pieces (mince)
If using the microwave, place 1 inch of water into a microwave safe bowl, add beans and garlic, and cook (covered) on high for 2 mins
If using frozen/thawed beans: on stove top put the butter into a pan and melt on low heat. Add beans and garlic and cook 5-10 mins covered Stirring occasionally until the beans are warm.
If using raw fresh beans: on the stove top place 2 inches of water in a sauce pan, bring to a boil and put green beans and garlic in. Reduce heat to a medium and cover. Cook 2-3 mins
For either method drain water, add salt, pepper, almonds and butter. toss to melt the butter and serve.
***Kids CAN: snap stems off of the green beans, smash garlic with hands or back spoon and peel garlic, stir green beans as they cook, toss beans with butter, salt and pepper when they are cooked
