Honey Cornbread

Mouth watering cornbread

Materials

  • 2 large bowls
  • whisk
  • spatula
  • 9x9 baking dish
  • Measuring utensil
  • Fork
  • cooking spray

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 2 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 Tbs Baking powder
  • 1 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 400 degrees F. Grease a 9 by 9 by 2 inch metal baking pan with butter or cooking spray

  2. In a large bowl whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda

  3. In second bowl whisk the oil, honey, buttermilk, sour cream, and eggs to blend

  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and stir until evenly moistened. scrape the batter into the prepared pan

  5. Bake the corn bread until the top is golden brown, using a fork inserted into the center comes out clean, about 25 min. Cool the bread on a rack at least 15 min. Serve warm or at room temperature.
