Our Values
Community Cooks Meal Boxes are part of our newest pilot program in collaboration with the Metro Food Justice Network that connects community and increases access to fresh food. Each week we’re delivering meal boxes to more than 400 households throughout the Twin Cities! Boxes are filled with fresh and locally-sourced ingredients to cook 12 meals, flavorful recipes, and an opportunity to try new foods and cook with family and friends.
In 2022, Appetite For Change celebrated our 10-year anniversary of creating impact in the North Minneapolis community and beyond. Despite the many challenges our community and organization have faced in our first decade, we continue to hold our core values at the center of our work.
Innovation
During the pandemic we couldn’t bring people together so we innovated our cooking workshops and launched the Community Cooks Meal Box program serving 400 families annually.
Community Minded
Our programs and social enterprises are led by people in our community. We listen to our youth and let them lead. Check out the mural project they did last summer with local artist Sprayfinger.
Resilience
AFC meets all new challenges by getting creative and doing whatever it takes. Minnesota winters won’t deter us from growing food. Learn more about how AFC is batting back against freezing temps in order to feed our community.
