About the program
We are piloting a meal box delivery program to offer access to fresh and nutritious meals throughout the Twin Cities, particularly for residents experiencing the effects of changing grocery store, market, and employment access. Each week we distribute boxes with fresh grocery items to over 400 households. The boxes are delivered straight to you at no cost and contain ingredients to prepare 2 nourishing meals for a family of six, or 12 meals total, featuring products from local vendors and culturally relevant recipes inspired by Community Cooks.
The Community Cooks Meal Box Delivery Program is a collaborative effort to make fresh food accessible by the Metro Food Justice Network, including Appetite For Change, East Side Table, M Health Fairview, The Food Group, Local Crate, The Good Acre, Transforming the Table, and The Sanneh Foundation!
Community Cooks Meal Boxes has completed its pilot season!
In just 30 weeks AFC has shared 9750 boxes and 117,000 meals. That’s over 100k opportunities to cook and connect with family and friends. We will begin programming June 2021 and continue sharing Community Cooks Meal Boxes with households across the Twin Cities.
