Our 7 farm plots across North Minneapolis are tended to by community members and AFC youth learning how to grow a variety of plants. These fresh fruits and vegetables are distributed throughout the Northside.
These weekly workshops offer youth, community members, and new or expecting mothers a space to explore preparing and enjoying new ingredients and nutritious recipes. At the same time, participants engage in discussions on social justice and how we can make change in our communities.
We offer teens and adults the space and resources to become agents of change in North Minneapolis. With several training programs and employment opportunities, participants develop their leadership, urban farming, culinary, advocacy & organizing, and job readiness skills.
Northside Fresh is a network of community members, organizations, and businesses working together for food justice in North Minneapolis. By building relationships, sharing resources, and advocating for policies, Northside Fresh uses the food system to create change in our community and beyond.
Breaking Bread Café is designed to be a causal neighborhood eatery and gathering space in North Minneapolis. Breaking Bread Café & Catering offer locally-sourced, made from scratch, and fresh dining options, including wholesome comfort dishes with plant-based and gluten-free options.
Station 81 Drink & Eatery offers a casual dining experience in St. Paul’s Union Depot. Catering and event space are available as well. Pop in any time to try our Brussels Tacos or the Station 81 Burger and support Appetite For Change!
Kindred Kitchen connects our community of locally-based food entrepreneurs with high quality commercial kitchen space and business services. Growers, caterers, and food trucks alike can use the kitchen to prepare meals, test new products, and utilize storage space.
Each week throughout the summer and fall months, we gather fresh, food, goods, and music in North Minneapolis. All vendors featured are proud members of the North Minneapolis community. We believe what’s produced on the Northside should be sold and shared on the Northside.
