AFC is a social enterprise using food as a tool to build health, wealth, and social change!
Q: Why do we need Community Guidelines?
A: Our Community Guidelines were developed to make sure our community stays protected and ensure all individuals feel respected. It will be the standard for what is or what is not prohibited on AFC digital communication platforms, and involves all types of content on our social platforms, including photos, comments, hyperlinks, private messages, video, and audio files.
COMMENT MODERATION FOR DIGITAL COMMUNITY USERS
Overview
Appetite For Change, Inc. allows for the submission of user-generated content. If you engage in any of Appetite For Change’s social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube) or other related communication channels (e.g., West Broadway Farmers Market and Breaking Bread Cafe), you are always expected to be responsible for what is shared online, this includes posts, sent and received messages, and content.
Social media users must adhere to AFC’s key ethical social principles of being empathic, responsible, and respectful online. AFC encourages public interaction with the following conditions:
- All comments must be ethical, respectful, and in general, follow good judgement before they are posted.
- Comments will be removed if they contain:
- Blatantly partisan disrespectful religious and political views.
- Explicit commercial endorsements of products not sold by Appetite For Change.
- Discriminatory, racist, offensive, obscene, inflammatory, dishonest or otherwise objectionable statements, disinformation, language or content.Advocates illegal activity or discusses an intent to commit an illegal act;
- Vulgar, obscene, pornographic, indecent, harmful, or dangerous content;
- Promotion content pertaining to acts of suicide or self harm
- Information that does not pertain directly to this organization;
- Language that threatens or abuses others, libels, defames, invades privacy, stalks, is obscene, is a hate speech, pornographic, racist, abusive, harassing and cyberbullying, threatening or offensive;
- Language that seeks to exploit or harm children by exposing them to inappropriate content, asking for personally identifiable details or otherwise;
- To display or promote talk of any individual(s) holding, handling, or transporting a firearm and/or any other weapons is prohibited.
- Violates any principle or may be considered to violate any principle against the stated rules, regulations of any social networking platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube) used in posting online as well as any principle that is enforced by local law enforcement or authorities;
Age Requirements
Appetite For Change assumes that all Facebook and Instagram users are adhering to the age requirements of the platform one which they are engaging.
AFC’S DIGITAL COMMUNITY TERMS AND EXPECTATIONS
Overview
Appetite For Change’s website may contain comment boxes, blog web pages, message and/or other communication facilities designed to allow you to communicate with the organization. You agree to use the allowed methods of communication only to post, send and receive messages and content that are proper and related to the organization. Digital community users agree to adhere to this Terms of Use agreement when using AFC’s digital communications.
When using the digital communication platforms, you agree that you will not post, send, submit, publish, or circulate in connection with this organization any material that:
- You do not have the right to post, including proprietary information of any third party, such as files containing software or other material protected by intellectual property principles (or by rights of privacy or publicity);
- Advocates illegal activity or discusses an intent to commit an illegal act;
- Is vulgar, obscene, pornographic, indecent, harmful, or dangerous content;
- Promotes content pertaining to acts of suicide or self harm
- Does not pertain directly to this organization;
- Threatens or abuses others, libels, defames, invades privacy, stalks, is obscene, is a hate speech, pornographic, racist, abusive, harassing and cyberbullying, threatening or offensive;
- Seeks to exploit or harm children by exposing them to inappropriate content, asking for personally identifiable details or otherwise;

- Collects or otherwise produces information about others, including email addresses, without their consent;
- Violates any principle or may be considered to violate any principle against the stated rules, regulations of any social networking platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube) used in posting online as well as any principle that is enforced by local law enforcement or authorities;
- Impersonates or misrepresents your connection to any other entity or person or otherwise manipulates headers or identifiers to disguise the origin of the content;
- Advertises any commercial endeavor (e.g., offering for sale products or services) or otherwise engages in any commercial activity (e.g., conducting raffles or contests, displaying sponsorship banners, and/or soliciting goods or services) except as may be specifically authorized from this organization;
- Solicits funds, advertisers or sponsors, except donation funds that support this organization;
- Includes programs that contain viruses, worms and/or Trojan horses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications;
- Spam, deceptive practices, and scams is prohibited. Representing as a pyramid scheme or other like scheme, including contests, chain letters, and surveys;
- Disobeys any policy or regulations including any code of conduct or other guidelines, established from time to time regarding use of AFC’s Digital Community Terms and Regulations or any networks connected to this organization; or
- Contains hyper-links to other sites and/ or apps that contain inappropriate content that falls within the descriptions set forth above.
