In the past ten days our community has grieved, united, and advocated together in meaningful ways. Today, our buildings are still standing and our people are calling for change. We are proud to be part of a community that stands up for what is right. Justice for George Floyd.
Appetite For Change was founded on the principle that food has the power to inspire change. Food touches every aspect of our lives and is the tool we use to build an equitable world for all. We continue our mission through food because we refuse and reject systems that are built on the disenfranchisement of Black Lives.
We grow our own food to uphold generations of Black knowledge on soil and healing. We cook to embrace the power of food, learning and connecting with one another. We share food to support local Black growers, food businesses, and neighbors, making sure our people have access to what they need to thrive.
Through food, we amplify the Black American legacy with business, policy, flavor, and our bodies. We welcome those who act to rise beyond deeply problematic systems, whether by giving to AFC, supporting black-owned businesses, educating and challenging yourself and others, growing food, or sharing a meal.
We believe in a better and brighter future, where food truly is the tool for health, wealth, and social change. We will continue, with our neighbors and our community, to come together around food. Today and tomorrow, we are here.
In pain, love, grief, and hope, we are proud to be your partners in change.
